Unexpected Finds on the Job

Waterproof sockets rated at IP66 are supposed to be just that, waterproof. However, with misuse, age, and general detritus, they eventually fail.


This example of an IP66 socket was discovered during an annual PAT test: it was half full of water and had a broken lid, most likely the reason for the water ingress. Fortunately, this was an easy replacement.
